Responsibilities
Solely operates a 24/7 mission-critical chiller plant. Performs mechanical and electrical repairs to all equipment supporting a Data Center critical to maintaining uninterrupted service to all University computer data systems. Complies with safety regulations of the University as well as local, State, and Federal agencies.
Schedule 6 AM-6 PM; ROTATING WKNDS/HOLS Responsibilities Position Summary: With minimal direction and latitude for independent judgment, operates a 24/7 mission critical chiller plant as a sole operator. The University of Rochester Data Center, located at 300 Science Parkway, is a high profile 40,000 square foot building comprised of computers that perform critical back-up of UR/Strong data. Mechanic will perform mechanical, and electrical repairs to all equipment supporting the Data Center. Functions are necessary in order to maintain uninterrupted IT data center services. Plant is a UR mission critical off-site facility. Failure to maintain critical infrastructure operations within 30 minutes may result in the loss of IT services to the University. Complies with safety regulations of the University and of local, state and federal agencies. Will need a valid/clean motor vehicle license due to driving a UR Vehicle.
